Mission

To provide:

A professional organized, trained, disciplined, uniformed rapid response volunteer force of engineers of all disciplines to assist the Maryland Military Department, state and local government agencies, and civil relief organizations in response to any impending or actual emergency.
An engineering "force multiplier," to the other branches of the Maryland Military Department.

Activities
The Engineer Corps of the Maryland Defense Force was established as a unit in March of 2006.

We are currently developing training requirements to carry out Engineer Corps mission objectives in the following areas:

Facility and disaster recovery assessment
FEMA organizational, command and control, and engineer recovery assessment

Unit members are currently undergoing FEMA training to be ready when called to assist the State of Maryland in engineering assessment of natural and man-made disasters, and will begin engineering assessments of Army National Guard Facilities in the fall of 2006.

Join Us
The Maryland Defense Force is always looking for construction and facility professionals, as well as architects and engineers to volunteer their services for the State. By joining this group of educated and experienced professionals you will provide a much needed service as a "force multiplier" to the other branches of the Maryland Military Department including both the Army and Air National Guard.

During times of Maryland State Emergency, the MDDF Engineer Corps will provide a ready and capable force of construction professionals, rendering services to assist the Maryland Emergency Management Agency in damage assessments.

Members of the Engineer Corps will also continue to sharpen their technical skills and focus on disaster preparation, response and recovery training provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
