MDDF Uniform Checklist Battle Dress Uniform Maryland nametape over left pocket. Last-name nametape over right pocket. Shoulder sleeve insignia on left arm (black bulge on button). No loose threads. Ironed or pressed (can use light starch). All buttons must be fastened (e.g., all the pockets). Optional special skills patch placed above Maryland nametape. Enlisted: Rank insignia on each collar. Officer: Rank insignia on right collar, and branch insignia on left collar (e.g., musket and saber). Note: Can use either cloth (non-subdued) or metal (brass) insignia, but cannot mix types. Beret Flash sewn on (centered based on cardboard stiffener). Enlisted: DUI centered over flash. Officer: metal rank insignia centered over flash. Boots Black combat boots. Polished. Pants tucked into top of boot and folded over.
